Planning Appeals to An Bord Pleanála

Our specialist planning service has been developed from the expert knowledge of Sean Lucy who has a longterm planning experience, as well as 15 years in private practice Sean Lucy was Senior Planner in Westmeath, County Engineer in Offaly and Roscommon, and was Chairman of An Bord Pleanála for 7 years.

The preparation of planning appeals and responses to planning appeals to An Bord Pleanála is a key area of expertise in Sean Lucy and Associates.

In dealing with appeals we examine the development in a similar way to the Local Authority planners or An Bord Pleanála Inspectors. We identify and address planning issues and make recommendations based on our assessment. We will identify amendments required to a development to secure a positive decision.

All projects are assessed on the basis that they could eventually be decided “de novo” by An Bord Pleanála. Hence every effort is made in the course of assessment to ensure that all relevant planning issues are addressed as they arise. Planning appeals are assessed on their merits and we advise as to whether we consider that a decision should be appealed to An Bord Pleanála.

Types of appeals:

·                First Party appeals by the applicant against refusal
